The new Focus Atlas in carbon is a versatile bike, with balanced geometries, which allows you to switch quite easily from bikepacking to gravel racing.
The new Atlas in aluminum, on the other hand, is designed first and foremost for adventure, not to go fast, but to go far, pedaling even for whole days.
FOCUS ATLAS 8.7 2026 BIKE MAIN FEATURES:
Prep Pocket on the down tube: the 8 series in carbon fiber is equipped with the now indispensable storage compartment under the bottle cage, which Focus calls Prep Pocket. Inside it includes the Prep Pack case, which allows you to carry tools, Co2 cartridge, tire levers and other accessori. A special stop in the frame prevents the bag from sliding downwards.
Goodbye Boost: all the new Atlas models are equipped with a BSA bottom bracket and the classic axle dimensions 12x100/12x142, which take the place of the Road Boost standard (12x110/12x148) that characterized the previous generation. A change that we consider appropriate, which allows the use of all the most modern gravel wheels without adapters.
Increased tire clearance: the maximum spazio for tires on the fork has been increased to 53 mm. The rear wheel, instead, can fit tires up to 48 mm wide for the 6 series and 45 mm wide for the 8 series.
Maximum system weight increased to 135 kg, to optimize load capacity for bikepacking.
Better aesthetic care: the new Focus Atlas is more refined also from an aesthetic point of view. In addition to fully internal cable routing, the 6 series has more refined welds (photo below), while all models of the 8 series are painted by hand.
New geometries: the geometries have been revised compared to the past and are diverse between the carbon version and the aluminum one. We talk about them in modo more detailed in the following paragraph.
A steeper head angle, a shorter front center and a shorter wheelbase should ensure greater maneuverability and reactivity. In addition, compared to the 6 series we find a lower stack and a longer reach, to offer a more sporty riding position.
