They are made in X-Pel, a water-repellent and quick-drying material, to prevent the shoe from absorbing moisture when crossing streams and puddles. The construction with an intermediate Lollipop™ insole and Vibram non-slip outsole is the winning combination for pedaling and, when needed, pushing the bike over non-pedalable terrain. The laces and Boa® L6 dial closure ensure a perfect fit and keep the foot securely inside the shoe.

The SPECIALIZED S-WORKS ARES ROAD shoes for road bikes are made with the best materials and with input from professional athletes. The shape of the upper makes the shoe one with the foot, and thanks to the new Boa Li2 closure, positioned further toward the center, the pressure is distributed more evenly across the foot. The result is an even more striking and secure shoe at the front of the foot. The collar and heel area have been redesigned, and the sole is a super rigid Fact 15 carbon.

The new SHOES SPECIALIZED S-WORKS RECON SHOE bring to off-road performance the benefits of road shoes. Thanks to over 100,000 foot scans drawn from RETÃœL data, a wider carbon sole has been introduced to better accommodate all shapes of the human foot. An internal I-Beam adds rigidity and strength, avoiding the need for additional reinforcements. The result is a shoe with a comfortable fit, adjustable, and sufficiently rigid to transfer all power to the pedals. The inside and outside of the shoe are built following Body Geometry criteria: thanks to 20 years of study and development, this shoe has no weak points, only high performance when pedaling. Thanks to the varying thickness, the longitudinal arch, and the metatarsal button, the foot stays in the correct position while pedaling and remains aligned with the knees and hips.
SHOES SPECIALIZED S-WORKS RECON SHOE MAIN FEATURES:
The high-density base and new spacers allow you to regulate pedal contact for maximum efficiency and a Road ride.

The asymmetric heel counter supports the medial side and allows material to be removed from the lateral area, enabling a lower collar.
The use of an internal I-Beam adds rigidity and strength, eliminating the need for further reinforcements and allowing the shoe to remain extremely light.
The reinforced zones on the fourth and forefoot maximize support, while the new BOA® closure improves lock, eliminating the need for a toe closure.
Available as spare parts are additional spacers of 3 mm, 6 mm, and 9 mm to compensate leg length and for cleats.
For a wider fit - the new sole is 4 mm wider than the standard width (8 mm wider than the previous S-Works Recon shoes).
