The R5 has always had a single purpose: to reach the top as fast as possible. But a finish line set at the end of a long ascent rarely aligns with the day's only climb. Usually a race isn’t decided on the descent, but you can lose it easily on the descent. A climber’s bike that can’t handle a switchback on a descent tastes like a cup of decaf coffee. This is the fourth generation of Cervélo R5, and while weight and stiffness have improved over the years, handling and the unmatched agility have remained constant since its first day of life.
FASTER IN EVERY DIRECTION
The new R5 frame is lighter by 130 g compared to the previous model, a 16% reduction. Additionally, even though aerodynamics were not a primary objective for this frame as they would be for an S5 or a P5, the integrated cables solution reduced aerodynamic drag by 25 g.
DARKER THAN NIGHT, LIGHTER THAN AIR
The black color can absorb all light, but the Cervélo Five Black is anything but heavy. This ultra-minimal graphics and paint package translates into a considerably lighter frame: you won’t even see them coming.
LESS RIGID, ALWAYS FAST
The R5 is stiff, but not too stiff. A perfect mix of handling, stability, and power transfer that feels “just right” and keeps you fresh and ready for the road ahead.
Turbulent Aero
This year’s novelty for the R5 models is the standard Reserve 34|37 TA wheel set. TA stands for Turbulent Aero, a new way of thinking about aerodynamics. Reserve and Cervélo have developed a protocol to replicate real-world wind conditions in wind tunnel testing so as to develop aerodynamic profile shapes that perform better in everyday use. This means the wheels are not only light, responsive, and fast, but also exceptionally stable and safe in all wind conditions.
INTEGRATED SRAM POWER
Red and Force versions include Quarq Zero powermeters integrated into the crankset. Integrating a powermeter translates to improved stiffness, lighter weight, and greater accuracy than aftermarket solutions, and the DZero offers power measurement accurate to +/- 1.5%, even in variable temperatures.

Elegantly designed around the Fazua Ride60 motor, Rouvida delivers 60Nm of torque paired with a 432Wh battery, and assists you up to a velocity of 25km/h to escape the group on climbs or to slide at the edge of control off-road. Exactly, Rouvida is available in two configurations: road and gravel. We designed clever interchangeable dropouts that significantly alter the bike’s geometry, so the road bike feels like a road bike and the gravel bike offers all the qualities needed to tackle unpaved surfaces. No compromises, only speed.

We know there is strong interest in road e-bikes but also in eGravels, so we designed a set of dropouts that allow a single frame to perform double duty. These dropouts — front and rear — are interchangeable, away from the typical "flip chip," and they modify the entire setup to achieve the fit and handling expected from a Cervélo road bike and a Cervélo gravel bike. Note: When changing the inserts (which must be purchased from the dealer), a firmware update is also required, which must be performed by the local Cervélo dealer.

Our bicycles are refined machines, with thoughtful design and high performance. Adding a motor and a battery could not and should not change things. In the 2022 Tour de France, this bicycle pushed Wout to achieve the highest points total in the modern era points classification. At 480 points, Wout had about 194 points lead over his nearest rival: tangible proof that Cervélo continues to provide aerodynamic advantages to its World Tour athletes.
The new S5 has reduced aerodynamic drag by 65 grams and increased the frame surface, while reducing total weight. The deeper sections of the frame maximize the shapes allowed by the UCI. The iconic V-stem has been further refined and the new fork has been designed to simplify the entire frontend.
Additionally, in collaboration with Reserve, a new and revolutionary wheel concept has been developed to increase stability and reduce aerodynamic drag in turbulent conditions.
CERVELO S5 DURA-ACE DI2 28 MAIN FEATURES:
V stands for Speed: In pursuit of speed, everyone wants to try different positions to find the most aggressive setup. The iconic V interface of the S5 not only guarantees safe high-speed handling, but is now also exceptionally easy to adjust. All necessary spacers are supplied with the bike and there is now only one bolt length, reducing complexity and lightening the system by 53 g.
Frame improvements: The new UCI aerodynamic design regulations have allowed greater freedom to refine aerodynamic profiles and achieve 65 g more aerodynamic performance than what is already the fastest aero bike on the market. Notable are a deeper head tube and bottom bracket area, as well as a more aggressive shaping of the tube exit edges. Because the new S5 is compatible only with electronic drivetrains, it was possible to simplify the dropout area and update shapes across the bike.
Turbulent aerodynamics: Reserve and Cervélo collaborated to develop a completely innovative approach to wheel design and testing, optimizing them for turbulent aerodynamic conditions. Wind tunnels typically measure laminar-flow performance, but such conditions are not realistic in the real world. We helped Reserve develop spoke profiles that stall less drastically with wider yaw angles: practically, this means greater stability, more grip, and more rider confidence. It makes you go faster because you feel more secure when increasing pace. The Reserve 52/63 are faster by 50 g in laminar flow and 54 g in turbulent flow compared to the previous Reserve 50/65.
Space for tires: Wider wheels and tires are faster aerodynamically and also more comfortable. The S5 is equipped with 28 mm tires but has room for up to 34 mm tires (measured). The frame is optimized to pair with the wider Reserve 52/63 wheels suited for turbulence. In addition to handling advantages, this provides a savings of over 5 watts compared to the previous Reserve wheelset.
Handlebar refinements: We improved handlebar comfort and modified the shape to achieve a perfectly flat transition between handlebars and controls. We now use a two-bolt interface that allows continuous adjustable tilt between 0 and 5 degrees.
Simplicity: Bike fitters at every level are moving away from long-offset seatposts, and the new S5 is shipped with a 15 mm offset seatpost in most sizes (vs. 25 mm on the previous model). The old seatposts remain compatible, and we will continue to stock the 400 mm model with 25 mm offset for those seeking a more extreme position.

The new S5 is over 6 Watts faster than the current version, 124 grams lighter while delivering the same handling, responsiveness and stability that cyclists around the world already value in its predecessor. The most significant changes concern the front end, from which the most meaningful aerodynamic gains originate. The fork blades and headset are more pronounced, while the handlebar and stem are now a single redesigned piece, reviving the V-stem concept but with an even more aerodynamic and fast solution. Cervélo and Reserve have jointly developed the new Reserve 57|64 Turbulent Aero wheels designed and wind-tunnel tested with the bike frame and optimised specifically for use with the new S5.
The integrated one-piece handlebar and stem of the new S5 contribute significantly to improving the bicycle's aerodynamic performance, but such improvements are limited if the rider is not fully comfortable with the bike. ONE-PIECE INTEGRATED HANDLEBAR
The new HB19 One-Piece handlebar uses our “Plus-Four” concept, meaning the upper part of the handlebar grip is 4 cm narrower than the lower part (for example, 38 cm/42 cm). This approach helps riders maintain a more aerodynamic body position when hands are in the high grip and provides stability in the low grip when tackling descents and sprints. The S5 has a single task: to reach the finish line before everyone else. Under the guidance of Wout van Aert, Marianne Vos and Christophe LaPorte, the new model has already proven to be an unparalleled tool. In the 2022 Tour de France, this bicycle pushed Wout to achieve the highest points scoring in the modern era sprint classification. At 480 points, Wout had about 194 points lead over his nearest rival: tangible proof that Cervélo continues to provide aerodynamic advantages to its World Tour athletes.
The new S5 has reduced aerodynamic drag by 65 grams and increased the frame surface, while reducing overall weight. The deeper sections of the frame maximize the shapes allowed by UCI. The iconic V-stem has been further refined and the new fork has been designed to simplify the entire front end.
Additionally, in collaboration with Reserve, a new and revolutionary wheel concept has been developed to increase stability and reduce aerodynamic drag in turbulent conditions.
CERVELO S5 ULTEGRA DI2 28 MAIN FEATURES:
V stands for Velocity: In pursuit of speed, everyone wants to try different positions to find the most aggressive setup. The iconic V mount on the S5 not only provides safe high-speed riding, but is now also exceptionally easy to adjust. All required spacers are provided with the bike, and there is now a single bolt length, reducing complexity and lightening the system by 53 g.
Frame improvements: The new UCI aerodynamic design regulations have granted us more freedom to deepen profiles and achieve 65 grams more aerodynamics than the already fastest aero bike on the market. Notable are a deeper head tube and bottom bracket area, as well as a more aggressive shaping of the tube exit edges. Because the new S5 is compatible only with electronic transmissions, it was possible to simplify the dropout area and update the shapes across the bike.
Aerodynamic turbulence: Reserve and Cervélo collaborated to develop a completely innovative approach to wheel design and testing, optimizing them for turbulent aerodynamic conditions. Wind tunnels typically measure performance in laminar flow, but such conditions are not realistic in the real world. We thus helped Reserve develop rim profiles that stall less dramatically with larger yaw angles: practically, this means greater stability, more grip, and more rider confidence. It makes you go faster because you feel more secure increasing speed. The Reserve 52/63 are 50 g faster in laminar flow and 54 g faster in turbulent flow compared to the previous Reserve 50/65.
Clearance for tires: Wider wheels and tires are faster aerodynamically and also more comfortable. The S5 is equipped with 28 mm tires but has space for up to 34 mm tires (measured). The frame is optimized to pair with the wider Reserve 52/63 wheels suitable for turbulence. In addition to handling advantages, this yields a saving of over 5 watts compared to the previous Reserve wheel set.
Handlebar refinement: We have improved handlebar comfort and modified the shape to achieve a perfectly flat transition between the bar and levers. We now use a two-bolt interface that allows continuous tilt adjustment between 0 and 5 degrees.
Simplicity: Bike fitters at all levels are moving away from long-offset seatposts, and the new S5 is supplied with a 15 mm offset seatpost in most sizes (versus 25 mm on the previous model). The old seatposts remain compatible and we will continue to stock the 400 mm model with 25 mm offset for those seeking a more extreme position.

On the edges of cycling and triathlon, endurance-oriented sports, there are athletes who push their bodies and equipment to the limit. Ultra-distances, yes, but ultra-fast. Not necessarily bikepacking, but with everything you need—without fear of sleeping on a bench by the road. We call these “Big, Crazy Races,” and since the Caledonia’s introduction in 2020, athletes worldwide have explored how big and how crazy this kind of ride can be. These are the athletes who choose the Caledonia-5. Born to tackle long-distance and high-speed races, with a fit and handling oriented to comfort, but without compromising that feel that only on a Cervelo race bike you can experience. For the new Caledonia-5 we focused on significant improvements designed for people who routinely push the Caledonia to the limit. The integrated storage compartment in the frame is hardly unnoticeable; it was introduced for the first time on the Series P. There’s enough space for a small multi-tool, a spare tube, and a CO2 cartridge. Out of sight, out of mind, until your tire betrays you. Then we thought about comfort: the seat stays are lowered, very similar to the Aspero’s, which makes the rear triangle sharper and thus more vertically flexible. At the same time, there’s a touch more stiffness in the down tube to maintain that special reactivity Caledonia is known for. You still have the option to fit large tires (up to 36 mm) and it comes with mudguard mounts as standard. As with all Cervélo bikes, the Caledonia-5 is UCI-approved and has a lifetime warranty. We make road bikes and do whatever it takes to ensure they last long.
IN-FRAME STORAGE
New this year on the Caledonia-5, the integrated storage is designed for a tube, a small multi-tool, and a CO2 cartridge. The door is easily removable even with gloves: just twist the lock and pull.
