In perfecting a wheel according to the AERO+ concept, the optimization of various parameters is aimed at a single goal: increasing speed! Translational resistance is the aerodynamic force that slows the cyclist in the direction of travel. This force depends on the cyclist’s frontal impact area (75%), the road bike and its components (25%), as well as speed. If you want to go faster, it is essential to reduce the aerodynamic resistance of the cyclist/bike system, since the force increases proportionally to the square of speed. From 15 km/h and up, aerodynamic resistance is the greatest resistance the cyclist must overcome. The front wheel plays a crucial role, as it accounts for 8% of total resistance.
