The brake piston is now positioned horizontally, and the pivot has been moved further outward and higher by 5mm, switching from a type I to a type II linkage. This, combined with the lighter but also stiffer caliper, requires 80% less braking force than the previous eTAP AXS. The carbon lever material makes it 83g lighter than the previous generation.
