The S-Works Aethos frame was designed to create the perfect blend of ride quality, lightness, and style - able to accelerate on steep climbs, descend the most technical descents, and remain comfortable during long Sunday outings. But you may ask, how did we do it? We reinvented the traditional shape of the racing bike of the past, changing it slightly to optimize stiffness and balance, without compromising weight or strength. With a completely new lay-up, perfected over many decades, you get the lightest frame on the market (585 grams for the S-Works frame size 56).
The Aethos is more than a new bike; it’s the start of a new generation. A super-light frame does nothing if the ride characteristics don’t instill confidence. That’s why for the Aethos we sought the perfect mix of stiffness at the front and rear in relation to ride quality. By studying flexibility and every tiny detail of the carbon fibers, we learned a lot about how forces traverse the frame. A few pedal strokes will convince you that the Aethos represents a new standard of riding. The Future Shock debuted in 2016 and quickly proved its effectiveness by winning Paris-Roubaix in 2018 and 2019. Positioned between the handlebar stem and the headset, it moves opposite to the impact forces that strike the wheel and travel up the fork’s legs. It substantially reduces the impact and vibration on the handlebars, while keeping the front of the bike rigid for precise handling. The result is a 53% reduction in force compared with the competition in typical road cyclist impacts. The result is a smoother ride and greater control to stay fast and safe. The Future Shock 3.0 is adjustable, so every rider can benefit from a 20mm travel.
SPECIALIZED FUTURE SHOCK 3.3 MAIN FEATURES:
ADJUSTABLE: Individual riders can adjust the Future Shock 3.0 response to roughness based on their terrain. Three different springs are available — firm, medium, and soft — and for each of them you can use up to five preload spacers. Do you need a stiff setup for an aggressive position on big cobbles, like the pros? Or perhaps you ride in a relaxed position and want it soft to absorb high-frequency vibrations? The setup can be easily changed at home in a few minutes. If you can remove a handlebar mount, you can install a Future Shock 3.0.
SEATPOST REGULATION: As much as possible to adjust Future Shock 3.0, there are still times when you want firmer or softer settings on the same ride. Quiet climb? Keep the stiffness. Difficult descent? Open it up. The new Future Shock (model 3.3) offers better compression adjustment in the saddle.
FUTURE SHOCK 3.3: hydraulic damping to control movement for a more controlled and comfortable ride. The rider can adjust preload to set the stiffness required for their seating position or terrain. Compression can be adjusted while seated.

The frame is Hi-MOD carbon and combines high-strength fiber layers with precisely oriented lightweight fiber layers and high stiffness, to offer a frame that weighs only 810g and passes all Cannondale stiffness and fatigue tests. The shapes of the frame tubes, precisely engineered, and the components remove about 9 watts compared to the previous model at 45 km/h, making it faster than many pure “aero” bikes, while weighing up to a kilogram less. The bike is extremely nimble and merges stability and agility perfectly. The race geometry and refined engineering offer handling so intuitive and safe that you can bring the bike to the limit and stay there for the whole race. The new Supersix mounts the Hollowgram R-SL 50 wheels: one of the fastest all-around wheels in the world. The wheel features a 50 mm high rim with very low aerodynamic resistance, flat-spoke rims, and the DT-SWISS 240 EXP rear hub gears that make the bike light on climbs and aerodynamic for the breakaway. The new Delta steerer tube design allows perfectly integrating the bike’s cables from handlebar to frame, while narrowing the frontal impact of the steerer tube and reducing air resistance. Resistant Specialized tire perfect for both training and competition. The central tread features the new, efficient, and fast Gripton 2 compound, while the sidewall uses the T5 compound for perfect grip in corners. In the event the Blackbelt protection is punctured (rarely), the tire self-repairs if RapidAir sealant is used. The anti-puncture protection has been improved by 8% thanks to the Kevlar BlackBelt hybrid technology under the tread. The tire is compatible with both Hookless and traditional rims, so you can mount the wheels you want and the pressure you prefer. The bead is reinforced with Zylon and exceeds Hookless pressure standards by 200%. Efficiency, handling, and durability for the professional circuit and also for your local workouts.
