Renthal was founded in 1969 by Andrew Renshaw and Henry Rosenthal, two trials riders with a passion for engineering and precision mechanics.
The syllables "Ren" and "thal" were changed from the founders' surnames, creating the Renthal brand, synonymous with the revolution in aluminum handlebars in the motorcycle industry.
Renthal began with trials handlebars and in 1975 began production of motocross handlebars in the Manchester factory that still houses the company's headquarters.
During the 1980s and 1990s, Renthal experienced steady growth, culminating in its entry into the American market in the 1990s.
In October 2000, the factory was destroyed in a massive fire and was replaced by a completely new facility of nearly 5,000 square meters, home to offices, production, and the testing, research, and development departments. The facility is equipped with cutting-edge machinery that is constantly updated.
In 2004, Renthal made history as the first aluminum handlebar brand to be chosen as an original equipment supplier by a Japanese motorcycle manufacturer: today, Renthal handlebars equip motorcycles from Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki, and KTM.
Renthal entered the cycling industry in 2010. Thanks to the same passion and dedication to engineering excellence that underpins its work in motorsports, the company has also grown rapidly in mountain biking, becoming in just a few seasons one of the most successful manufacturers of racing components, as well as one of the most well-known and respected brands among riders.
Renthal's history is studded with innovations, incredibly reliable components, and sporting successes: a story that constantly repeats itself.
The brand is now known for using an exclusive aluminum that makes its Renthal handlebars 20% stronger than any other in the world, lightweight yet with good impact resistance and vibration dampening: a fraction of a second, a few grams, or a couple of millimeters...nothing is left to chance here!
Renthal engineers are always seeking innovative solutions to give their customers the best possible experience, through ongoing research and development in collaboration with the world's top athletes.
Renthal is now a global brand, but the heart of its production remains in Manchester, UK.
On a sporting level, the nearly 200 world titles won in motorcycle racing are complemented by countless successes in enduro mountain biking: gold medals at the World Championships, World Cup victories (including 10 overall titles), and victories in the Enduro World Series.
This is Renthal's winning world.

The current range of cycling products includes handlebars, stems, grips, chainrings, and accessories and is exported worldwide. Using only the best materials and producing every MTB component with a true obsession for detail and quality, the end result is the production of products that excel in lightness, strength, and safety. The Renthal fatbar carbon handlebars, the Renthal grips MTB and MTB handlebar stem are designed with very specific characteristics to offer maximum control and comfort. For example, the surface finish of Renthal handlebars is rough because it is treated with millions of steel pellets fired at high velocity, which improves the structural characteristics of the material, while the characteristic golden color is achieved through a hard anodizing process that is far superior to normal anodizing. As authorized dealers of Renthal Italy, we at Pro-M Store offer you all types of products the brand has to offer.
