The new P Zero Race TLRs are the first PIRELLI product with tubeless technology fully made in Italy, at the new Bollate factory.

The new generation of the PZERO Race TLR is the most performing tire in PIRELLI's portfolio and also the first tubeless tire entirely manufactured in Italy. The introduction of the new SPEEDCORE technology in the 120tpi carcass involves using a compound mixed with aramid that coats the tire’s inner layer, improving both rolling efficiency and tire resistance. Result: a tire that is less rigid but faster. The compound maintains the same advanced SmartEVO technology, shared with the other high-performance PZERO tires in the range.

TECHNOLOGIES

The racing formulation for the most advanced road use ever, born from Pirelli’s experience in the premier Motorsport competitions and from the specific collaboration with World Tour factory teams. The new SmartEVO Compound uses a blend of 3 different polymers, each of which provides performance in a perfect balance of opposite characteristics, such as grip and rolling efficiency. The ternary polymer mix with “intelligent” behavior characteristics forms the basis of the exceptional properties of the SmartEvo compound, enabling better grip on dry and wet, while also improving rolling resistance. SmartEVO Compound is a high-performance compound tuned for the most modern cycling disciplines, from local or World Tour races to epic adventures where weather and road surfaces require tires that excel in all conditions. SmartEVO is for exclusive use with the P ZERO range.

SPEEDCORE

The most performing tubeless-ready road construction in the Pirelli range involves using a layer of aramid-reinforced compound that coats the tire’s inner layer, allowing air retention. This new structure makes the tire more resistant thanks to the presence of aramid, yet at the same time less rigid and faster, due to the greater flexibility of the compound compared with a bead-to-bead fabric. The casing is then completed by a 120tpi Nylon fabric and a puncture-resistant layer, also in aramid.
