The new Roval Rapide Cockpit is much more than the fastest way to reach the finish line. It’s the fastest attacking tool we’ve ever built, with major aerodynamic advantages, shaving another four watts from the ultrafast Rapide handlebar combined with the Tarmac stem. But to offer a winning edge, more is needed than pure aerodynamics. The goal for the Roval engineering team was simple: the Rapide Cockpit had to be the fastest handlebar we’ve ever built, with no compromises. It is aerodynamic, lightweight, stiff, and designed in collaboration with the world’s best athletes and our Retül Fit experts, so you can seize the victory.

• AERODYNAMICS: removing the linking components between the handlebar clamp and the bar allowed us to design the handlebar profile in an airfoil shape. We optimized this airfoil to provide maximum advantage in clean air at speeds encountered in long solo breakaways and even in full-out World Tour sprints. While a four-watt improvement may seem small, it translates to a 32 cm advantage in the final 250 m sprint. When races are won by launching the bike, this is a decisive difference.
• LIGHTWEIGHT AND RIGID: By removing the clamp components of the stem-to-bar connection, the Rapide Cockpit is 50 grams lighter (100 mm x 420 mm) than the Rapide bar with a Tarmac stem. Made from premium high-modulus carbon fiber, delivering the ideal stiffness for the biggest and fastest sprinters on the World Tour, the Rapide Cockpit has a stiffness-to-weight ratio higher than any two-piece system we have ever built.
• POSITION: The drawback of one-piece cockpits has long been positioning, but we collaborated with our Retül Fit professionals and top athletes to ensure nearly all riders can find their proper saddle position. We offer 15 different combinations of handlebar clamp and handlebar, all at -6 degrees, covering most race positions. The top-to-drop reach has been sculpted for wrist freedom both in out-of-saddle and tucked aerodynamic positions, while curvature and cut reflect our favorite Rapide handlebars.
• Designed with an aerodynamic profile for a 4-watt advantage versus a traditional aerodynamic handlebar.
