The Chisel is the lightest full-suspension alloy bike in the world. It’s 18.4% lighter than similar models in the category and, thanks to the kinematics and geometry of its big sister Epic 8, the Chisel delivers excellent performance on every ride. SPEED METAL: Thanks to D'Aluisio Smartweld, the Chisel boasts the lightest XC aluminum frame in its class. Each frame tube is highly manipulated and features varied thicknesses and profiles that provide stiffness where needed, for efficiency, vibration absorption, comfort, and optimal control. CAPABILITY: with 110mm Ride Dynamics-tuned suspension travel, the Chisel’s performance pedigree can be traced directly to the Epic 8, our World Cup racing machine. The DNA of the Epic 8’s advanced suspension kinematics, Ride Dynamics-tuned suspension, and progressive geometry refined on technical World Cup courses can all be found in the Chisel, making it more than capable of handling varied terrain with confidence and speed. EFFICIENCY: The Chisel is the most efficient bike in its category, thanks to the geometry and kinematics developed for the Epic 8. The forward seat tube places the rider in an optimal pedaling position. Optimized anti-squat reduces pedal bob. Put it all together and you’ll understand how the Chisel translates every watt on the pedals into maximum forward motion. SMOOTHER IS FASTER: We designed Flex Stay stays so the suspension would be class-leading while eliminating the added weight and maintenance of pivots used in traditional designs. Extensive field and lab testing proved the Chisel achieved the impossible: the efficiency, control, and lightness of the Flex Stay design—common on carbon bikes—with advanced alloy. HYDROFORMED ALLOY: The one-piece hydroformed seat tube includes the bearing seat and the bottom bracket shell, unlike a traditional alloy bike where the two components are welded. This way, the Chisel lima further material and weight.
