Five Ten

Five Ten is an American company founded in 1992 by Charles Cole. Following a disastrous fall while climbing, he decided to develop a new type of rubber for soles that would offer even greater friction and durability. This resulted in Stealth rubber: a special rubber blend that provides the sole with both increased grip and greater durability. The company's name comes from 5.10, a score on the Yosemite decimal scale, which in the climbing world indicates a difficulty level higher than grade VI on the UIAA scale. In 2000, Five Ten officially began producing shoes specifically designed for mountain biking and was immediately endorsed by professional athletes such as Nathan Rennie, Sam Hill, and Chris Kovarik. The company produces various types of rubber, such as: M6 Rubber: The latest compound developed by Five Ten, which provides exceptional foot-shoe feel and absorbs vibrations. S1 Rubber: The most commonly used compound in Five Ten MTB shoes, as it ensures high grip, durability, and cushioning. Phantom Rubber: This compound uses a special type of rubber that leaves no marks and ensures better power transmission to the pedals. Stealth C4 Dotty Rubber: All Five Ten shoe models using this compound absorb vibrations, dampen shocks, and offer excellent grip on the ground when tackling sections on foot. The company makes several shoe models: FIVE TEN FREERIDER: perfect for all-mountain riding. They are divided into different models, such as the Contact and Kestrel with a Stealth C4 sole that ensures high grip on the ground when tackling sections on foot and a long-lasting sole. The Five Ten Freerider Pro with an S1 rubber sole is perfect for consistently high performance while pedaling, and the Freerider Contact with a sole made of Mi6 rubber for high comfort even on rough terrain.
