Giro was born in 1986 from Jim Gentes' idea of ​​making running the best part of life.
In fact, Giro's mission is to improve the connection between the competition on your bike and the sensations it brings to life: the sense of freedom and adventure, the desire to win and the joy of living well.
In 1986 Gentes created the first true modern sports helmet, the revolutionary Giro Prolight, excellent for breathability, low weight and decidedly captivating style, while the new Modular Full-Face helmet was created at the foot of the 2000s.
In 2011 the first Giro mtb shoe, the Factor, was launched, while in 2014 Giro mtb released the first helmets equipped with MIPS, a design capable of reducing the energy transferred to the brain during an angled impact.
Thanks to the dedication and numerous tests in the design phase, to date, the brand is a world leader on the market with its MTB tour helmets and MTB tour shoes that offer comfort, design and safety for every biker: this rapid evolution of the company has allowed to invest in its preparation in a headquarters that now has numerous 3D printers, an internal wind tunnel and even a proprietary form of heat detection, the Therminator, which is used to validate ventilation stations and test the cooling power.
